YWL Giving Fund

The Young Women’s League of New Canaan supports various local charitable organizations and volunteer agencies through funding and service.  We have chosen “KIDS: Knowledge, Independence, Development, Safe “ as our 2010-2011 charitable giving theme.

If your organization would like to be considered for a donation in 2010-2011, please submit a grant application (click here to apply online or download the form) and submit it to the Young Women’s League on or before September 26, 2011.  Applications postmarked after the deadline cannot be considered for funding.

We will make our preliminary funding evaluations in the Fall and will decide final appropriations after our major fund-raisers in May 2011.  Funds will be distributed in early June 2011 and all applicants will be notified of our decision at that time.  Bearing our charity theme in mind, we encourage you to mention specific needs and their related costs.  Please note that we do not fund operational costs, such as rent, salaries, office supplies, postage, etc.  We will entertain both large and small requests.  Grants are awarded with the stipulation that the money be spent in full within one year of receipt.
