Fundraising Events

Each year, the YWL develops a slate of fundraising events to raise money for charitable grants to local organizations. Through our fundraising efforts the League has given more than $1 million to local organizations since its inception. Many events have also become valued annual traditions such as the Easter Egg Hunt (Apr 9), the Touch-A-Truck Family Festival and the YWL Holiday Market (Nov 17/18).

Our main evening fundraising events this year are the Holiday Market and the Winter Gala.  In addition, the League is proud to introduce a new fundraiser this year, the American Girl Fashion Show (Oct 23/24).  All proceeds from this spectacular event will benefit Kids in Crisis.

  • 25th Annual New Canaan Family Lobsterfest

    YWL members, families and friends are invited to attend the 25th Annual New Canaan Family Lobsterfest, presented by the Rotary Club of New Canaan, on Friday Sept 24th or Saturday Sept 25th.

    The Rotary Club of NC will contribute half of your ticket cost to YWL's Giving Fund, so please be sure to buy your tickets through YWL!  (The other half will benefit the local and international charities supported by Rotary - so it's all good!)

    Lobsterfest will take place under the tent at New Canaan Historical Society on Friday, Sept 24th (5-8pm) and Saturday, Sept 25th (12-8p).  Tickets are $30 per person and include a 1 1/4 lb lobster, corn on the cob, fresh roll, coleslaw, coffee or soft drink, fruit & homemade baked goods.  Beer and wine will also be available.  You can even take your lobster dinner home to enjoy!

    Chicken dinners and kids' hot dog dinners will also be available at the door.  Fun activities will be provided for kids.

    All tickets purchased here will be available for you at the door with your name (no tickets will be mailed in advance).  Tickets are sold on a per dinner basis, so you can decide last minute which night you will attend!

  • Annual Easter Egg Hunt (date TBD)

    HOP, HOP, HOP ON OVER TO THE HUNT

    The Young Women's League of New Canaan will hold the 38th Annual New Canaan Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March __, 2011 at 10:00am at Waveny Park. The event is free and open to the public. Children will delight in watching Mr. and Mrs. Bunny arrive on "Old Faithful". In addition to the candy filled hunt, there will be a live band, coffee and baked goods, face painting, bounce houses and the bunny hop! 100% of all proceeds go to the Young Women's League Giving Fund. It will be a meaningful, fun filled morning not to be missed! In the event of inclement weather the Easter Egg Hunt will take place on the same day at Dunning Field/NCHS.
