The YWL proudly supports many local
charitable organizations and volunteer agencies through funding and service.
For the upcoming 2020-2021 cycle we are focusing on community giving with the
theme Local Giving. Lasting Impact. With this slogan we aim to focus on projects and programs
impacting the local community. We know organizations and families basic needs have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic and we hope this theme will allow many organizations to apply for a grant. If you believe this theme aligns with certain project(s) being pursued by your
organization, we encourage you to submit an application for funding.
We ask you to be as
detailed as possible with respect to specific needs and their related
costs. The criteria we use to evaluate applications includes the
following:
How well the application fits within the giving theme
The general stability and quality of the organization seeking funding from the YWL.
The overall impact of the proposed project. Data on past success rates, number of people who will be helped etc. is always useful.
We welcome both large and
small requests. Grants are awarded with the stipulation that the money must be
spent in full within one year of receipt. The YWL Charity
Research Committee will meet in the fall of 2020 to begin our evaluation
process. We will decide final appropriations after our year-end fundraiser in
late May 2021. Funds will be distributed in June 2021 and all applicants will
be notified of our decision at that time. Please note that we only fund
program costs, we do not fund general
overhead/operating costs.
