FUN RUN

A NIGHT IN OLD HAVANA

A Better Chance of New Canaan's mission is to substantially increase the number of college- educated minority youth’s capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American society. Students hail from challenging neighborhoods, with sub-standard educational offerings and ABC provides a home environment for students while they get the chance to attend a local, high quality public high school. Students are required to maintain a certain GPA, have mandatory study hall and also participate in a variety of after school sports, programs and activities. Funds for this organization provide these students with access to pre-college preparatory services such as summer courses at local universities to transportation for their own college visits.

KIDS FANS AT STAMFORD HEALTH focuses on behavior modification and lifestyle intervention using a hands-on curriculum that empowers children ages 3-18 to make healthy choices by giving them the tools, skills and confidence they need to best navigate their food and physical activity environments. Funds raised for KIDS FANS will go towards healthy food for both the 2020-21 after school programs and food for the 2020 summer camps that target a large percentage of Stamford's at-risk children such as the Boys & Girls Club, Yerwood Center and YMCA.

NEW CANAAN MOUNTED TROOP Currently celebrating it's 80th year, NCMT's mission is to build responsibility and confidence in youth through sound horsemanship and to enrich the lives of individuals with special needs through equine assisted activities.  They are currently requesting funding for their Super Trooper program which provides equine assisted therapeutic activities for children and adults with intellectual, emotional, developmental, cognitive and physical disabliities within the local community.
